Antony Johns

He originally trained in dance in Portsmouth, winning many major awards. At the age of 13, whilst still at school, he appeared in the London West End production of “Gypsy” starring Angela Lansbury and then went on to appear in the film “Bugsy Malone”. Having completed his training, he joined the BBC’s Young Generation and as a dancer worked with most of the top choreographers and top stars all over the world. He joined Dougie Squires 2nd Generation Dance company and latter became Dougie’s assistant and joined Jamie phillips Trends with numerous productions from Television, West End, Theatre, Cabaret. Choreography was always his goal, Jamie gave him his first break with choreographing Trends productions and Pantomimes all over the world.

Antony was given his own BBC children’s series Count me in which took his career onto another path of children’s presenting, pantomimes as performer director and choreographer.

Combining all this with his choreographic work when he started his long association with Amanda Thompson OBE for Stageworks world wide productions with shows such as Mystique,Eclipse,Forbidden and Hot Ice.

In 1999 He took over Trends from Jamie Phillips and ran the company in London until 2005 when he appointed  as Creative Director of both Pleasure Beach and Stageworks, for nine successful years.

 

In 2014 Antony and Dougie Squires have relaunched the Trends Entertainment Company.
